RIMA FAKIH MISS USA 2010

Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih

 

The Embassy of Lebanon in Washington, D.C. would like to congratulate American-Lebanese Ms. Rima Fakih  for being elected Miss USA 2010.

Ms. Fakih is of Lebanese decent from Sarifa, a village in south Lebanon, and moved to the United States with her family as a baby. She was raised in New York City  and in 2003 her family moved to Michigan where Rima later became Miss Michigan.

Rima is a graduate of the University of Michigan–Dearborn with degrees in economics and business management.

The eyes of the world are upon Lebanon's Jeita Grotto now that it has been selected as a top 28 finalist in the ongoing Global Campaign to declare the New Seven Wonders of Nature. Today you have the chance to reveal to the world the true wealth, heritage, and beauty of Lebanon.

 Now that the final phase of voting for the New7Wonders of Nature is underway, it is going to continue through 2010 and into 2011 where the final results will be announced.

Making this site a natural wonder makes all the difference, as it will help to preserve it for generations to come and further acknowledging it as an Icon for World Tourism.

    The Embassy of Lebanon in Washington D.C. proudly announces the election of Lebanon as a non permanent member to the Security Council for a two year-term starting January 1st 2010, in which Lebanon will be also representing the Arab Group.

Lebanon received 180 out of 192 votes from the General Assembly; greatly surpassing the two-thirds majority needed for Security Council membership.
