Effective October 1, 2026, Lebanese citizens who do not yet hold a biometric passport may apply for one for the first time at the Embassy of Lebanon in Washington, D.C. Applicants must book an appointment to submit their biometrics at the Embassy.

Lebanese citizens renewing a biometric passport must also now come to the Embassy in person to submit their biometrics and have their photo taken.

These requirements follow the regulations set by the General Security Office in Lebanon. They apply to Lebanese citizens residing in the states under the jurisdiction of the Embassy in Washington, D.C. Citizens residing elsewhere should contact their respective Consulate General in Detroit, New York or Los Angeles.
